I don't quite think or paint in terms of inspiration. I prefer stealing, just the way a magpie would do.
The 'Self-portrait as C.B.' series illustrates this clearly. My fascination with Cesare Biratoni’s 'Catalogo non ragionato' drove me to appropriate the drawings and make them mine though painting (to the catalogue).
